Through out history, man has always looked for ways to pay homage to themselves and their loved ones in different ways. In order to achieve this you need more than a craft worker, you need a true artist and a special form of art.
Pyrography or pyrogravure is the art of decorating wood or other materials with burn marks resulting from the controlled application of a heated object such as a poker. It is also known as pokerwork or wood burning.
The term means "writing with fire", from the Greek pur (fire) and graphos (writing). It can be practised using specialized modern pyrography tools, or using a metal implement heated in a fire, or even sunlight concentrated with a magnifying lens.
Our artists start by tracing your selected photograph on to a select piece of wood achieving complete accuracy. After being traced, using a pyrographer (similar to a soldering iron) with different metal tips for different styles, your photograph is carefully burned by hand into the wood.
Finally, our artists are ready to apply the finishing touches to the work of art. The finishing touches are the very last details applied that give the woodburning a timeless feel. These finishing touches can range from shadow effects, type of varnish used, to very specific details unique to your photograph.
Generally, pyrography is regarded as a craft technique, used for decorating objects with different types of designs and patterns; lines, dots, shading, and much more. However, through the works of our artist and our vision, our company aims to highlight pyrography as a much richer and more complex technique, which can be classified as an artistic drawing, with surprising results that exceed beyond a simple craft application.
This is your opportunity to make an unforgettable impression.
